2020 Registration for First Communion and Confirmation
St. John the Apostle Parish
Dear Parents/Guardians:
St. John the Apostle Parish is accepting registration for those children in Grade 2 who are eligible to receive their First Confession and First Holy Communion (They must have been baptized or received into the Roman Catholic Church and have reached age seven by the date of their actual First Communion). If a Catholic child is in a higher grade but has not yet received their First Communion, they too may be registered.
We will also be registering those children in Grade 6 who are eligible for the Sacrament of Confirmation (They must have been baptized or received into the Roman Catholic Church). If a Catholic child is in a higher grade but has not yet received their Confirmation, they too may be registered.
The child must reside in the geographic boundaries of St. John the Apostle Parish or regularly attend church here in order to register for these sacraments.
Children not in the Catholic school system (i.e. those in public or private schools, or homeschooled) will need to take instruction through the parish before receiving these sacraments. We will contact you at a later date with further details.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are accepting registration by one of three methods:

By filling out the online Registration Form below and emailing it to the parish office with an attached copy of the child’s Baptismal Certificate. Email address: stjohnap@magma.ca
2. By postal mail of the Registration Form and a photocopy of the child’s Baptismal Certificate to the parish office (St. John the Apostle Parish, 2340 Baseline Road, Ottawa, ON, K2C 0C9).
3. Drop off the completed forms in person at the Parish Office. Please call the office to make arrangements before coming, 613-829-1760.
Deadline for registrations is **December 23, 2020**
Due to the uncertainty as to what restrictions may or may not be in place next year due to COVID-19, at this time exact dates for First Confession/Communion and Confirmation have yet to be established. Suffice to say that First Confession will likely be during Lent 2021 and First Communion and Confirmation is intended for the 2021 Easter season. Dates will be firmed up well in advance of the actual sacraments. Sorry about any inconvenience this may cause.
